Grab the bar with an overhand grip (palms facing away), hands slightly wider than shoulder-width. Pull your body up until your chin clears the bar, then lower with control. This is the gold standard of upper body pulling strength. If you can't do one yet, build up with negatives, chin-ups, and inverted rows. Work up to 3 sets of 5-8 reps. Master this before moving to advanced pulling variations.
