In calisthenics, every exercise is a lever. Moving your hands wider in a push-up or extending your legs in a front lever changes the mechanical advantage. A longer lever (more distance from the joint) means greater disadvantage—more force required. Shorter levers make the movement easier. Understanding this lets you adjust difficulty without changing exercises, and helps you understand why progressions work.
